To make sure to call if you say you'll call to let the patient know of their prescription/result of the test/availability of vaccines. or advice otherwise so that the patient knows where they stand.

I can't speak more highly of Hillview Practice, the receptionists, nurses and of course, Dr Samuel herself. She is an outstanding doctor who is caring, takes the time to listen to me, sends me for thorough check-ups if she feels they are needed and more importantly of all, has literally helped save my life on two occasions. I am most certain that if it wasn't for her and the wonderful staff at the Royal Free hospital, I wouldn't be here writing this review right now. About 9 years ago I was admitted to the Royal Free on Dr Samuel's insistence, as I was suffering from severe jaundice and blood poisoning due to alcohol abuse. I spent over 3 weeks in hospital and managed to pull through even though my chances were slim. I continued to have check-ups at the hospital and Dr Samuel encouraged me to phone her and keep her updated as to my progress, even though she would have received letters advising her of my progress directly from the hospital. Unfortunately, about 2 months ago, due again to alcohol abuse, I went to see Dr Samuel who advised that I immediately go to the hospital to have blood tests and a scan, which I did and I am under the care of the Hepatology Department who are monitoring my progress. On this occasion, I did not need to be admitted to hospital, thanks to Dr Samuel's very swift action. Never once has Dr Samuel 'ticked me off' about my alcohol abuse, only to say that of course I'm hurting myself and also people around me. She makes you feel very at ease and that you're understood. I am also seeing a counselor free of charge, who I wouldn't have seen if Dr Samuel hadn't advised I attend the hospital. The counselor is helping enormously with my addiction. I am also awaiting an MRI scan and final consultation regarding my gallbladder as I have a fairly large polyp in there. I wouldn't have known about this if Dr Samuel hadn't arranged for me to have an Ultrasound lower abdomen scan as I'm not in any pain with it. Although it is a totally separate issue, it's of extreme importance that surgery is carried out as it could be cancerous and if it is, hopefully it has been caught in time. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have a GP like Dr Samuel.
